#22359 RE: sarals #22358

You bring up some good points.

I've long held to the belief that people love the debate/battle with the "bashers" even though they say they don't want them there. Same with the bashers. They love to fight the pumpers. They act like they want to stock to go to zero and shut down. What else would they do with their time? It's my view that you need both. That's why we've always stuck with the one forum concept.

However, I understand the dynamics of the Internet change daily and more and more idiots are allowed to use their computers.

I've always seen it as my job to provide a forum for people to discuss, add messages to my database, gather among friends, learn from eachother. It's not my job to protect them, keep them from knowing something, or tell them something they should know. The entire concept of a message board is to promote discussion.

If they want to post in a group of 3 to themselves, fine, as long as they are posting, having fun, and generating some sort of revenue for the site. If they want to engage with everybody, bashers, pumpers included, go for it. The point is they are discussing, posting MESSAGES. Whether they are losing money or making money is their problem, not mine.

The question is: Has the Internet and the type of people using it evolved to the point where you simply have to come up with a way to ban people that you and your buddies just don't want to put up with? But still allow EVERYBODY who follows the rules a place to post? Is filtering good enough?

Or are these problems just a reaction to the stock price?
