I wonder if straight married people work there .. gay marriage is legal now .. it seems to me that IF you could get Ted Olsen and that other wonderful bright lawyer ... they could straighten this school out .. .I mean it's LEGAL .. how can you hurt someone one for being LEGAL? ...

.......... well I do know . .that these things take a long long time . .good god . .look at slavery ........we're still having issues over that ... .. after all these years ... and truly once again, I would think Ca. Law ... would trump everything .. but I guess not .. I guess it's like saying .. You can't be 'good looking' and work here ... . ?

see I don't think 'most' of this comment applies as this is legal in California .. AND having sex with children is not .. ! .. .. “No, the Catholic Church does not prefer that its teachers live together outside of marriage. The Catholic Church does not sanction homosexual marriage. This is in the teacher's contract which stipulates about personal behavior and Catholic theology and policy. Several cases similar to this one have been litigated. The result is the substantiation of the contract. And, no the Pope did not say we are not to judge. He said, "who am I to judge." That was his answer to the status of non practicing homosexual priests. Lastly, this teacher was well aware of his contract and further aware of the court cases. Did he really think that the Catholic school was going to ignore he contract and cut him some slack?”

so ? doesn't Law trump what the 'Pope said or didn't say'? And the LAW is fairly new.. so I wonder ... nah ..It's the 'private' school thing .. I think?

Catholic teaching regards homosexuality as "objectively disordered" and homosexual acts as "contrary to natural law". It condemns discrimination against gay men and women on the grounds of their sexual orientation, but says they are "called to chastity".

this is that article i was talking about BEFORE right before his trip to Brazil

this is really sort of interesting .. ;) it has all the 'right' stuff ..the possibility of "Vatican' . intrigue .. etc.. . .& even Pope Francis, I am sure 'some will even have questions about him .. . IF they haven't already ... it's interesting .. ; ) .. .of course I believe it just as it ... .. .as I have no reason not to ... but ... I'm patient and always ready for a follow up ... ;)

"The atmosphere was one of near incredulity," said John L Allen, a veteran Vatican observer for the National Catholic Reporter, who was on board the flight. "We haven't seen something like this for 20 years."

In the course of his first real press conference, a free-wheeling session in which the pope answered all the questions thrown at him and even thanked a journalist who asked him about a recent sex scandal, Francis signalled a readiness to address the serious issues of the church – albeit in a light-hearted manner.

Asked about reports of a "gay lobby" inside the Roman curia, he replied: "I have still not seen anyone in the Vatican with an identity card saying they are gay."

He struck a markedly more conciliatory tone towards homosexuality than his predecessor, saying: "If someone is gay and he searches for the Lord and has goodwill, who am I to judge? The catechism of the Catholic Church explains this very well. It says they should not be marginalised because of this [orientation] but that they must be integrated into society."

That catechism however, also teaches that, "homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered". Francis said nothing that would appear to counter that, although some observers said his remarks set him apart from Benedict, who said that men with deep-seated tendencies should not enter the priesthood.

Francis seemed to disagree: "The problem is not having this [homosexual] orientation. We must be brothers. The problem is lobbying by this orientation, or lobbies of greedy people, political lobbies, Masonic lobbies, so many lobbies. This is the worse problem."

Francis also used the word "gay" rather than "homosexual", which his predecessors preferred.
