The way I see it (yes, this is just my opinion)..
LUMB/RON/FFGO/NMGL set out with a "plan" to attract investors and then short (NSS) the heck out of their own stock via certain MMs. The last NSS that was recorded was the $285M (on that cold winter day thing - remember that?). After LUMB/RON/FFGO/NMGL made their money, they were left with a HUGE problem... a lot of "Shareholders" waiting (yet again) for another dividend. LUMB/RON/FFGO/NMGL know if they don't pay the dividend, they WILL be sued.
So how does a company eliminate being sued?? Easy..... keep Shareholders waiting forever. Never release anything that hints that the dividend won't be paid. They'll keep "Shareholders" waiting, and waiting, and waiting for many years... the more people wait, the more people that give up and walk away... and as a result... dividend liability is reduced to the company.
So by NMGL keeping us waiting they are reducing their liability for a dividend that they no longer have responsibility to pay.
"Keeping us waiting" = "Avoidance of lawsuits"
Keep this in mind when you hear "dividend soon", "dividend is still alive", etc.
