William Postal a professor from MIT said that a missile defense system was impossible to build and much easier to get around. He even said that the tests of our missiles defense were rigged and told them why. His letter was classified and he couldn't refer to it in his defense. We are so far away -decades at best that it is a colossal waste of money. It's welfare for our defense department.

Interesting: I watched the gulf war and remembered distinctly that I always worried if the patriots would work, it being a hit or miss affair. We knew they didnt when they destroyed a barracks in saudi arabia and killed american servicemen, and missiles landed in Israel. I do not remember thinking that they worked well and then finding out differently.

So our memories are distinctly different.

I flinch a little when I hear a newsperson say SCUD.

I do agree it is different missiles this time.

We will see about the final tallies, and have also learned that cruise missiles require a different kind of defense set, maybe repositioning of the radars or something else entirelyup
