HDY is the one trick pony not ERHE.
There have been plenty of activity in Chad as more blocks have since been auctioned off and we see more interest in the region. The EEZ now has Sinoangol, with SNP and Sonangol as partners. Is Kenya the only *immediate* game in town? Sure. But that is the first domino.
HDY on the other hand, whether they had some oil shows or not still had a failed well. As we all know, it is not enough to have oil shows, but the well must have commerciality.
Can Tullow assist HDY in finding oil? Tullow is certainly a capable partner...and that they are THE ONLY THING, in my opinion, which has kept HDY from going completely bankrupt.
With so many highly prospective blocks which ERHE has indicates to me that ERHC's prospects of finding oil is much, much higher than HDY's.
Closeology indicates that HDY is drilling in territory far, far away from Jubilee or offshore Ghana. Good luck with HDY.
But the hottest place in Africa right now as far as oil is concerned is Kenya. And on shore exploration is substantially less cost intensive and quicker than off shore exploration.
HDY will have to endure far more Africa time off shore than ERHE will on shore.
