<<what is bob? he's the umpire. can't you understand that?>>

Yes, I can see that. I can also see he is a pretty fair umpire, which you fail to see.

Using your own anolgy about finding out the ump is a yankees fan, not a mets fan......does that mean, he cannot umpire? No not at all,....it means we must do our best to find the best umpires that will be unbiased and not effected by their own personal likes or dislikes.

Lets be mature, and be honest. Every sport.....every single sport, has human officiating. You know as well as I do that every human that is officiating in any sport, has likes and dislikes for cetain teams. there is no way to avoid this. The guy behind the plate of the mariners yankees game, grew up liking somebody and not liking somebody and etc.....maybe he grew up hating the yankee's......the point is in every sport, we do our best to find impartial judges. Does it always work? I wont sit here and Bull$hit you and say yes, our system is perfect.......in fact there are many sports where the officiating may be biased...boxing is one, and it is no secret in baseball that some umps give certain pitchers a little more leeway in their strike zones because of reputation. It's no secret that Michale Jordan received his share of biased calls...it is not a perfect system......but, it's all we have and all we can do is try to put people in officiating positions that wont let their personal biases effect their decisions. In Bobs case....I think ihub did an excellent job finding an impartial judge that will be as unbiased as humanly possible.

Does that not make any sense ?
