Maybe they just grab stocks that are in a solid upward trend and add it to their list, this allows them to take claim for a stocks upward gains without being involved in process at all.
Scary part is their community of followers is unaware and attribute this success to the promoters wisdom. The community doesnt find out about the lack of wisdom until they put their money in a real pump and dump.
