Thanks Bob, I'll have to look up the commercial units for solar heating the pool but I've always imagined a box/copper pipe situation similar to what your talking about.
Regarding the pool getting too warm, I hope to be able to regulate that with a retractable pool cover, to keep it from over heating during the day and open it at nite when needed to cool it down since the lows in July and Aug. average 61, while the highs those months average 91. Hoping the cover will preserve on the pool chemicals also.
And all the animals will show up when I need to eat, and there will be lasting peace on earth, and every day will begin with sun and end with sun and it will only rain at midday to help my garden grow. And they lived happily ever after.......lol

Bob I have had people who have solar heaters that when the pool gets to warm in the Summer turn the solar Heater on at night only and it will cool the pool...

Oh and also I am currently building A couple of solar heaters for my new pool just as you describe.....
