I strongly suspect it's just a reaction to the ONXX bid. Shorts tend to run scared at this sort of news, and then momentum traders pile on.

Any independent company with a high-class, wholly-owned oncology asset is going to attract attention in this environment, and there aren't a lot of those out there.
