"Introduced just over one month ago, with great anticipation by many in the trucking community, the Cummins Westport ISX 12G engine will be the first natural gas product to be used in heavy duty applications, with the performance differential in horsepower and torque only 5% and 12%, respectively, less than its diesel counterpart,” said Citibank in its report. The engine is already sold out for the year."
Thursday, June 27, 1:45 PM ET Shares of Westport Innovations (WPRT +8.9%) rise again today, pushing the shares up 14% over the past two sessions. Today's rise might be attributed to upbeat comments made in a keynote speech by UPS at the ACT Expo in Washington, DC. The delivery giant commited earlier this year to using liquefied natural gas trucks, powered by Westport HD Systems, in interstate operations for its Ontario, California to Las Vegas, Nevada route.
