Every multiple of 9 has the same symbol. Any 2 digit number, once both digits are added together, and subtracted from the original number will result in a multiple of 9. See below:

32 - 5 = 27
27 = 3 x 9

7 + 7 = 14
77 - 14 = 63
63 = 7 x 9

5 + 8 = 13
58 - 13 = 45
45 = 5 x 9
If you look on the chart, every multiple of 9 (9, 18, 27, 36, 45, 54, 63, 72, 81) has the same symbol. It's a neat trick though.
