AMD will sell as many of their new chips as INTC allows them to sell. INTC can price their chips at levels to put AMD out of business any time they choose, but it is in INTC's best interest for AMD to remain a viable competitor for antitrust reasons. I have never seen any reason to own AMD at any price other than for a quick trade. Even INTC is suffering as we head into recession, and there is no guarantee that AMD will survive if the recession lasts a long time. They will never be able to match INTC in R&D spending or production costs.
Just my opinion, though.
