I have been following SONS since 2000 closely. Personally, i feel that SONS customer base is too concentrated and as far as I know SONS only addressable market is the SP/carrier market. The other issue I have is that SONS distribution channel is too limited.
let's also not forget that having the best technology doesn't mean one will win. Sometimes other solutions are just good enough. It's not the best product, but the best "Whole product" that wins, reffeing to G.MOORE.
yet, I think the IMS architecture is close to inflection point on the S-curve and that will lift the whole networking sector, including sons, but it remains unclear to me that SONS will become a huge winner.
Just some personal thoughts.
