There is a solid connection between the two. The reason you have multiple offense scammers running these companies (see Sandy and the DoM), is because there is money to made on them. If you buy and sell at the right time you can also profit.
100% of the pink sheet stocks I play I am 90% certain are pump and dumps. So what? I don't plan to hold them long term. I also don't pumpp them trying to draw in suckers to sell to. In fact, usually I "bash" them at the same time I hold them.
