No doubt part of what you said is true: they need to file. But since you're not the bearer of bad news you're now Mr. Obvious or Mr. Welcome-to-several-months-ago.
Assets don't become worthless overnight.
Studies on late filings show that super-late filings that are positive tend to have a massively positive stock price response.
