Let's compare the COB concept to two friends who like to play cards together. The two friends names are BULL and BEAR. But one of the two friends decides that he must always win. So he thinks real hard and decides that when he is losing he must eliminate his opponent so that nobody can say he lost. So he continues with this train of thought and goes through hundreds of people who like to play cards. After a while he realizes that he has run out of people to play cards with because he is completely intolerant of anybody who is better at playing cards than he is. Can you see how one can end up being real lonely if he only plays with people he can win against all of the time?
Not only will he run out of friends to play cards with but his game will never improve because he only ever played against people he knew he could defeat or eliminate when he could not defeat them.
