Yep, an individual coil per cylinder and it's all crank-triggered.

Hadn't thought of that. Might be able to get a coil pack in a junkyard.

It's nice that so much of this car is available real cheap in junkyards but the stuff I'm probably going to need most won't be.

Shouldn't need to check the compression. It's not an interference engine. As long as you don't over-rev it (major over-rev, as in about 9k rpm), the valves aren't going to hit the pistons no matter what.

I'd wonder about the miles, but all the paperwork the original owner accumulated was in the glove box. He sold it to the guy who re-covered the seats, made up some lies, and sold it to me. <g>

Don't recall seeing a receipt for a timing belt replacement, but it's probably in there. This isn't the original belt, but it's also several years old. Found a receipt for a very expensive brake job at the Ford dealership, including turning the rotors. He paid a lot more to get the rotors turned than O'Reilly replacements cost new. And the brakes were in horrible shape when I got the car, including worse problems than just wear, but they're fine now.

I'll eventually have her whipped into shape, but the "POS Car" label is firmly affixed to it.
