dropdeadfred -- it does appear that the ongoing NRA confab is not, at least not generally (query whether they might be handling attendance at any speeches/meetings/meeting rooms any differently), imposing any special carry restrictions -- though I believe it is/remains correct that at least most gun shows as such do not allow folks to bring/carry their own into the show -- a statement currently at http://www.nraam.org/ regarding carry at the ongoing NRA confab:
"Texas generally prohibits the open carrying of firearms. During the NRA Annual Meetings & Exhibits, conceal carry firearms are permitted in the George R. Brown Convention Center and the Hilton Americas-Houston Hotel. When carrying your firearm, remember to follow all federal, state and local laws."
they check the weapons for safety - usually zip tie the trigger
What's the point of carrying a gun if you can't shoot it? Why aren't you protesting this violation of your 2nd amendment rights? What are these gun shows afraid of that they don't allow you to carry a loaded weapon around at their events?
That was my original question to you which you still haven't answered. WHY CAN'T YOU CARRY A LOADED GUN AT A GUN SHOW?
