I wholeheartedly agree. They shouldn't ignore it because it looks too fringe tech. You never know, it might be hugely successful.

Intel's product development methodology is very costly and has
long TTM. It is extremely risky to chase new markets for chips
that are at best theoretical and worst laughable hokum. If a
market turns out to be real and material then look at the guys
that demonstrated it was real and then out-engineer them into
the ground.
