Public conroe performance data...
INTC has publicly stated that conroe will have about 3X the specint_rate of the 3.6Ghz P4. We know they get about a factor of two due to dual core, but that also implies that it will be about 50% higher performance per core than the 3.6Ghz P4... at least for specint. Given the VERY good specint performance of the Dothan core this is not too surprising. I think the real question mark is the floating point performance, which Dothan is pathetic at... and of course how much of that 50% specint gain requires recompiled code:-)
