I suppose there are things where that isn't the case, everybody seems to believe it to be true. But the things I run in time that I can notice, the 64 bit stuff is faster. Now true, my usage patterns are very different than most. I don't know all that many people who run network simulators, for example.
I would put you in the category of "early adoptors". That makes sense to me. I understand that when 64 bit apps become reality, what you say makes sense. Otherwise, 32 bit Yonah makes sense.
