As some of you know, I am an Nvidia bull, but honestly, Nvidia has been trying too desperately to "beat" Intel at raw CPU performance. They will cherry-pick bogus results from the GeekBench database and say, "see, look, Tegra 4 is just as fast as an i7! Wow!"
The focus for them should be first and foremost on GRAPHICS, since this is an area in which I truly believe they have the potential to be the world's best at. Apple right now makes the sensible trade-off of 2 CPU cores + 3x GPUs, versus everybody else trying to play the "Quad core" game, only to have weaker GPUs and ultimately worse user experiences.
I am hopeful that they are more sensible about this balance in the smartphone/integrated iterations of their chips, which given that they didn't try to stuff a low clocked Cortex A15 into Tegra 4i, seems to be the case.
Ultimately, though, I see Nvidia being acquired.
