Re: Indy

If you find it offensive it indicates that I'm definently on the right track.

Not quite. Our entire philosophy is based on freedom of the individual and the objection to government control over peaceful people's lives. Libertarians are on the very opposite end of the political spectrum with control freaks. We find it offensive because it is the exact opposite of what we advocate. It's like saying Hitler was a staunch defender of human rights.

I'm flat out stating that libertarians are so consumed with self indulgence that they give very little consideration to the needs of others.

How do you know this? Do you personally know libertarians who refuse to help their fellow man?

It's probably the reason there are so many dissenting opinions about which nit gets to be the head control freak that is the result of the chaos your party constantly experiences. As witnessed by the joke you made out of yourselves in your last primary.

Are you sure you're not thinking of the Reform Party? I'm not an expert on Libertarian Party politics, but I think I would have heard about any such controversies if they had happened. Please enlighten us on what you are talking about.

Re: indy708.

"If you're suggesting that "control freak" and "libertarian" are anything other than polar opposites, either your confusion or your dishonesty has reached new heights. Thanks for the demonstration."

I kind of use nits like yourself as a barrometer. If you find it offensive ...

(At this point, more amusing than offensive.)

... it indicates that I'm definently on the right track.

I point out your lies (or screwups, whichever applies), and from this you draw the conclusion that you're "on the right track"? Boy, that indy-logic of yours just keeps right on misfiring, doesn't it?

I'm not suggesting anything, I'm flat out stating that libertarians are so consumed with self indulgence that they give very little consideration to the needs of others.

From the master of self indulgence himself. I'm pretty sure I once suggested that you should set your sights a little higher than coming up with the best insults, but showing off your ability to make idiotic proclamations with a swagger wasn't exactly what I had in mind.

I suspect this character flaw probably would extend into other areas of thier lives than just thier failed political agenda.

I suppose that would be a possibility, if such a flaw applied to most libertarians in the first place. But since it clearly doesn't, it's not much of a point, is it? Oh well, when you've got nothing else, you have to take them where you can find them, right?

As I've pointed out before regarding the "failed political agenda", the country is filled with voters whose thinking is no better than that which you have demonstrated.

It's probably the reason there are so many dissenting opinions about which nit gets to be the head control freak that is the result of the chaos your party constantly experiences. As witnessed by the joke you made out of yourselves in your last primary.

Thanks to Spall, we've now pretty much established that you got this one wrong, too. Either you're badly confused, and you are talking about the Reform Party instead, or you're trying to extract a point out of some LP incident so obscure that both Spall and I (and probably most libertarians) haven't even heard about it.
