Matt, that's a good idea (read-only access), but please consider these points.
-If it's read-only, then other members can't post things like, "Matt, I think so-and-so should be released because ___________." I do know you value the community's input on some jail issues.
-If it's read-only, then members who had been assaulted by an inmate won't be able to come throw any eggs and tomatoes at him. Part of justice is a little revenge by the victims.
-(This one needs to be considered.) If other members can't post, then some inmates will tell you great, big, whopping lies about the circumstances that got them jailed, and the non-jailed members they are mentioning won't be able to correct the record or defend themselves.
What about this... this may be technically impossible, but can the 3 post/day limit apply to ALL members, jailed or unjailed? That way the community can get their say on the above matters without clogging up the joint again.
