I certainly won't defend the behavior of the priests or the priests cardinals who covered it up. People like Law from Boston should be in jail.
As far as abortion is concerned I can see where the church has a right to voice their opinion on the matter. After all it is one of the top 10. However I don't think they should politicize the subject.
I think regarding war you'll hear a louder voice from this new pope. I think he's going to stir things up quite a bit.
If you study the history of the church (popes) there have been some good ones and bad ones. I've had discussions with some catholics who find such talk heresy. Guys like Donohue are as bad for the church as conservative republicans are bad for the country. They accomplish nothing.
