Here's one more for you.
Today I bought a Sansa from Costco. Made by Sandisk.
$119
Comes with internal 1G memory and SD card slot for unlimited memory.
It has a pretty good screen and some nice features (equalizer,pause and resume,album lists, artist lists, random play - all that stuff)
Great earbuds (the kind with the little rubber tips that you can drill straight into your eustachian tubes.
Runs for about 17 hours on 1 AAA battery.
Much lighter and easier to carry around than ipod.

I loaded it up today and been walking around all day with my studio headphones on singing at full blast.
My kids - 11, 14,15 - all want one.

Just my 2 cents - I think I got good value.

LP's are back in vogue.

Had a garage sale last year and no one was interested in the cd players but the 1970's era phonograph and tape deck sold like hot cakes.

Hang on to that reel to reel....
