So many were shorting anticipating a sell the news..... I bet they are fueling the final push.

COT report is out. Commercials were nearly even on the SP. When is the last time that happened?

One more thing, George........ something I haven't heard mentioned..... the fed was actively lowering interest rates before the last war and continued for a couple years (or so).

We had demand for new stuff out the wazoo.... not many had a pc for their kids at that time, internet was not really used much, no plethora of walkmans, even vcrs weren't in every house at the time................ so there was lots of places to get a job when the recession ended (which was deeper than this one). Since interest rates came down a couple percent you still had the stimulus of lower house payments (although home prices were dropping so not so sure how much new money was extracted).

Next year though.......................... I personally think we don't see a lower low. There is only so much time companies can refrain from spending and pcs are going to start breaking.

George, the fact that virtually everyone now expects a retracement, and/or believes the recent rally has been nothing more than an artificially-induced, wrong-headed, unjustified blip, suggests to me that this may have further to go, or at least that any retracement may be shallow. JMHO.
