Might be a function of programmed trading buying on breakouts, options expiration and shorts covering.
I'm surprised there isn't more fear with earnings coming. If you believe that Orcl and Hpq were not alone in seeing a fall off at the end of their quarters, knowing that March is very back end loaded and it might carry over to next quarter..... the lack of fear is odd.
The straight up shot is kinda blowoffish, except that there isn't a bigger up/down ratio.
Maybe everyone thinks that orders will come flowing in again now that Iraq has been bombed. Who knows? Maybe they will.
