LMAO! Oh God, this is so easy. It's like bowling. You keep setting up the pins, I keep knocking them down around you. How many more b-slappings do you want before you let this go? (although, I must admit, I am more than happy to oblige given the putrid personality which you display on this board)

So, your arguement goes - predictably - US society is far too different from that of Japan's, so the comparison is null. LOL. Um, did I actually hear you say that Spokane's school district translation fees are due to the heavy indian component? The important indian component that gets $400K alloted to it in the $271M budget. My, my how you are reaching now.

Anyway, your original (snicker) challenge was reduce the cost by 25%. I believe you called me big boy. LOL. Well, if it weren't so much fun knocking you around, I would have simply said pull over a Japanese superintendent and have him run the district EXACTLY the same way he does in Japan. (which, by the way has a FAR longer school year) In doing so, the cost per pupil in the Spokane school district would drop by 25%. Almost exactly.

So, let's get down to it, shall we. Now that is blatantly obvious that Admin. is ruining the current school system in the US, let's have a look elsewhere.

In 2001 the average per pupil cost in Japan was $5654 (USD) while in the US it was $7574. I will assume, due to your vastly superior intellect, you can calculate the difference. but, let's look further. Of all the OECD countries that reported in the World, the US spent the SECOND HIGHEST on per pupil education in the world. (while this is not necessarily a bad thing, as any sane person would have concluded by now, those expenditures contain a great deal of wasted resources) The high group, that includes the US, also includes Denmark, Austria, Italy and Switzerland. As we all know, the SOCIETIES of these countries are so much similar. All of you being such socialist bastians.

Now, let's look further. Spending still higher than Japan and lower than the US are Iceland, Belgium, Sweden, France and Finland. Does your pea brain see a pattern emerging here? Well, let me state it if you still cannot add 2+2. The education system you are attempting to foist on us on this board, and that liberals are pushing on America (for the sake of the children!!!) is a SOCIALIST education system. (if you need to please re-read the sentence until you get it, as I have no desire to repeat it)

Now, perhaps - as you stated - we should compare societies that are more similar. Well, let's look at Germany and the UK. (they are more capitalist societies, supposedly) German per pupil costs were $4911 and UK costs were $4643. (so be thankful I only went the 25% that your (snicker - LOL) challenge asked for) As you can see, it could have been a lot worse.

But, you're the one that asked for it. You stated that you hoped people on this board could get an education from the process. Well, I hope they did too. I hope the majority of them can see that they are paying for a socialist-approved system of education for their children. But, since you wanted to educate, you got it. Be thankful we never went to the Korean system.

Now, since you're seething mad, I would like to explore the worldwide scholastic aptitude scores. Ah, you've had enough for today. But, if you've got big enough ones' perhaps you'll bring it up in another of your ABB rants. That would be fun to show just what kind of a return we are receiving on our investment as measured by SAT's.

And that, of course would bring us full circle wouldn't it. As that brings us back to NCLB. For, in your socialist nirvana, standardization and evaluation are anethema. But, I'm sorry to say, you live in America. And even Ted Kennedy doesn't share that vision.

Poor niceonice. Now, he/she will resort to calling me goober again. The glasses will go on even tighter, the pencil will get even sharper, and the heels will did in even harder. This is all you have left. Preach incorrect conclusions to those you hope are not educated enough to dispute them, nor are inclined to find out more about them.

I look forward with great anticipation to your next post because, as E. Hubbard stated, don't despair that you've lost the arguement, you can still call me vile names.

Did it occur to you that one of the most powerful lobby groups in the country are the two teachers unions? Where there's power, the taxpayer's $'s flow freely. Just take a gander at the AARP for the other powerful lobby.

Someday try questioning a school district's teachers or administration about spending issues. It's a real joy.....
