I saw extended coverage of (D-PA) Rep Murtha's press conference last evening, and IMO there probably is not a more sincere person in Congress. Murtha described visiting the vets hospital at home (PA) and those who are back from their of tour in Iraq - some are now without hands, some are now without arms and legs, and some are now blinded. At one point, while recalling these visits, Murtha seemed to become overwhelmed.
Will Murtha be vilified by the Reps? You bet - it has already begun. One response I heard this morning is that Murtha is taking the "Michael Moore approach" - a comment meant to denigrate Murtha and his views. It won't work - not any more.
The majority of people in the US have now seen through this admin, and:
#1 do not believe GWB anymore, and
#2 do not trust GWB.
That's a deadly combination for a president who is trying to carry out his "war president" policies.
