That's easy if you understand arbitrage done by hedge fund. Someone is definitely doing that with commons and prefs. Not as much money to be made, but money is money.
I confess that I've done something similar to acquire a portion of my current portfolio for free.
Nonetheless, someone is doing this only with certain confidence in the outcome of f&f.
