I always have a hard time telling people that there is no
other breed exactly like them. And then I make it worse
when I say there are no two Weimaraners exactly alike,
as each has it's own personality. But Weimaraner people
all know what we mean, and having whelped and placed
over 250 puppies since I got my first one in 1977, staying
in touch with many of the owners throughout their dogs
lives just deepens that belief. And I just adore all dogs
really, never met one I couldn't like, given a little time with
it. My little experiment with my daughter's Weim is doing
ok. I had Britta for the weekend and the two grandkid's,
so Britta seems to get that she has a pack that is split
between two houses 50 miles apart. After about a year of
traveling back and forth, I would bet anything if she were
thrown out anywhere in between, she would turn up at one
or the other houses within 24 hours. Sleep well. Alls going
to be good.

My last dog had 'reverse seperation' anxiety.
I could leave her at home not in a crate and never had an incident and she was usually sleeping, nice and calm.

She was an adoptee at 6 and I was her third (4th owner really, turned back to the breeder once). She hated the car and would start wimpering right away and got frantic if it even looked like I was going to pull into a lot. The exception was when we headed to the fields or trails for our walks. She would know within one or two turns exactly where we were going.

That's outstanding news about Jacki, I'm relieved.

This is excellent news. Glad to know Jacki is comfortably resting at home.
