Smart card type ID, and software has been out for years, this patent depends heavily on bio-metrics, could be mistaken on this, but have read as much as possible. I had a smart ID in the Military as early as 2002.
Even with that, how many weed smokers are going to put their lives into the matrix for a buzz when they can grow their own. You may get some elderly after its all said and done, I guess. But most people are going to find out what bio-metric means eventually, and how it affects their privacy.
