Who knows what they're building there, but it's not a bunch of rookies doing systems integration. They have poached a number of Intel folks as well. Austin is where the Atom CPU/SOCs are developed. ARM and Apple and Qualcomm have R&D centers there as well. It's a good time to be an engineer as all of these players are competing for talent.
