So you think that MS will ignore Intel's Montecito?
No but they realize that no one is going to buy an IPF
box for low end compute trivial MS applications like
email, FAX, and print servers. Also, a lot of this SW
is x86 specific legacy hairball type stuff which would
be a huge pain to clean up and verify on IPF.
They are supporting IPF for big iron, back office apps
like database and ERP.
