Instead of going professorial about all the pros and cons of the Swiftech H220, we are going to simply state that this is the best damn AiO cooler on the market, hands down.
From a thermal stand point the Swiftech H220 is not leaps and bounds ahead of coolers such as the Corsair H110, but in our testing it was able to surpass it by a few degrees in both our overclocked and stock testing. What really makes this cooler a must buy is it doesn’t adhere to the strict restrictions of the standard AiO coolers. This unit can be refilled, it has a pump powerful enough to expand the cooling to graphics cards, chipsets, VRMs, memory and more. Of course not all users will need to use these features, but the fact that they are available places this cooler in a league of its own, seeing as no other AiO cooler in the western market offers the same features.
On top of the performance and features the H220 is also extremely quiet during operation. In our labs the dual fans attached to the radiator peaked at 50.2dBA after a 30 minute burn in test, making this one of the quietest coolers we have tested.
The only downside to the H220 is its price tag is high for a CPU cooler. Let’s face it, not everyone has the ability to drop $139 on a cooler, so there is a large portion of the market that will not be able to purchase the H220. Since this is the case we think it would be great if Swiftech designed a less expensive single radiator unit using the same basic design principles.
The Swiftech H220 is the AiO cooler we all wanted, but didn’t know we needed. Now that it is here though we can’t imagine going back to anything else. Outside of the H220 current AiO coolers don't allow you to expand the cooling beyond the CPU, they can’t be refilled and most don't offer best in class performance and acoustics either. In other words, if you are looking for a AiO cooler in the $100+ range the Swiftech H220 is the one to get.
