If you got into an accident, would the hospital accept her as your guardian, to make life or death decisions for you?

If you are in a state that recognizes common law marriages, or have been in one, you may not be able to just walk away. As one of the examples said, you would probably have to get a divorce or take the chance that if you get married to someone else in the future, you could be charged with bigamy.
I'm glad you are doing well in your relationship. The last post was just things to think about. I did not know most of those things before I looked them up on here.
