As an ex-R&D person I can tell you that documentation does not come easy. Most learn it in college classes, especially grad school. For a person like JB who was in construction, then ran a motorcycle shop and stumbled on Kryron by accident, I seriously doubt he documented much of anything on his lab work - experimenting with this cocktail or that one until he found something that worked for him and then tweaking it, maybe making a few scribbled notes along the way. Later, when needing to patent a formulation maybe going back and reproducing it with more extensive notes, then back to quick experiments for other applications. And so on...

Hopefully, the new PhD scientist can reproduce and document past work and extend it properly to new applications.

JMO based on 30+ years of involvement in R&D.
