Sure, oil prices and inventories will drop off the radar screen when oil stabilizes and doesn't move for a while. No point in paying attention to a stat. that doesn't change much.
Oil as a driver has been waxing and waning since the early 70's depending on geopolitics and supply-demand. I would expect this to continue and get more volatile and important until the last dinosaur gets burned down the tailpipe.
