Speaking of "hitching one's wagon" I am convinced that one of the shrewdest moves that Mr. Ehrlich and Dr. Menon have made (among others) is to capture the interest and motivation of Big Pharma (BP)early on. This is why we have the likes of Pfizer in the ante-room, so to speak, with their combo drug trial pending.
If Dr. Menon has indeed discovered compounds that work across multiple cancers, those companies with tremendous resources (BP) have the power to either kill-off, "join," (partnership) or buy.
I never under-estimate the dark side when so much is potentially at stake. It is much better to have those with power seated at the dinner table and salivating than standing outside looking in through the dining room window with envy.
