Our CPA, Auditor, and 2 SEC attorneys feel otherwise. Preferred shares that are not converted are not shown on balance sheets. If you are a CPA, go brush up on your continued education requirements... you are rusty.

Its a common misconception in Finance to forget that preferred stock really is another type of equity. Preferred's trade like and act like bonds but they are very much ownership and show up on the balance statement under stockholder's equity
