#136710 RE: BullNBear52 #136668

Honestly, I'm not that concerned about the Christmas party... I celebrate it in my house. I don't care about the Halloween thing either.

But when someone thinks it's appropriate to start us off with a prayer I need to draw the line. That's not fair to the rest of us. Nor do I want to be judged in a courtroom that has the 10 commandments on display.

The first examples are cultural... although those that object to them have a point. But while Santa Claus is one thing, the birth of our Lord and Saviour quite another.

You need to go back and read the Roger Williams quote again.

In the blasphemies of their idolatrous inventions, superstitions, and most unchristian conversations he is talking not about pagans, but so-called Christians, whom he describes as "most unchristian" . It's similar to my assertion that mlsoft is just worshipping a book. The message that Christ preached seems lost on him. Where is his support for peace? Where is his support for tolerance? Where does he support social programs that help the poor? I read him railing about undocumented Mexicans not paying their fair share of the tax burden, about Muslims all being out for our blood. A true Christian this is???

Thanks for the input on my intolerance. Interesting that I'm "just as bad." Just when I was thinking he was totally righteous and I was a crank. I'll try to do better. Must I be kind to the war mongers as well?

***I've thought about going to the Carolinas. I don't like the New England climate and I can't convince the wife to move to the Caribbean. I don't attend a Synagogue but I'm a little afraid to move somewhere where you "have" to attend church. (Down there where Jew is still a 3-syllable word as it were) Just something we're tossing around here at the Sortagreen household.
