I dunno what will happen, but my gut all along is that unless Greenspan can step in to stop it, we are going down. War is not bullish - too many things can go wrong when dealing with a madman that has unconventional weapons. More important (but probably on the back burner for the moment) the economy is getting worse, not better, and they have been supporting the markets for a good while already while the rest of the world has long since made new lows.
I will stick with my earlier prediction of lower markets without a superhuman effort by Greenspan - I will be watching the $USD and INTC, CSCO, MSFT, AMAT, plus a few others closely tomorrow.
The first real chance for a rally should come when we are able to secure control of the oilfields and take out Saddam's ability to strike Israel, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia. That could come relatively early in the war, or it may come too late. We will have to see.
Just my opinion, though.
