#18295 RE: Aiming4 #18289

OT-Thanks Aiming. I would never do anything where I had to spend a prolonged period of time above 20,000 feet. Not worth it to me. Aconcagua at 22.8 K is known to be an absolute bear of a mountain in that it takes forever to get up and it's pretty late in the game when you see the summit. The max I would attempt is Ojos del Salado on the Chile-Argentina border, at 22.7K the 2nd highest mountain in the world outside of Asia. It rises up out of the Atacama desert and has less snow and ice than Aconcagua. But I wouldn't try it unless I was in the best shape of my life, which I wasn't in when I was in Peru eight years ago. But I really do want to go back sometime.
