New York - Corporate C-E-O's are bailing out at a record pace.
So far this year, there have been eleven-hundred changes at the top, nearly double the number for all of 2004. This is now the biggest C-E-O turnover year on record, surpassing 2000, during the dot-com and pre-recession shakeup.
In October, 96 C-E-O's departed. While that's down from the 121 exits announced in September, it marks just the third time this year that the tally of C-E-O changes fell below 100.
The majority of turnovers this year have come in the health care and computer industries.
