They might be. I looked at the beta and if they're reading and will pay attention to anything I've said, I'd like to say "Don't do it!".
Overall, I don't mind the interface. However, change has to be gradual. You simply *don't* throw a complete makeover at the users. You do that and it no longer feels like "home". If it doesn't feel like home, you're more inclined to look for a place that does.
