Absolutely amazing.
I've been a member of Ihub for about 12 years and never felt the interest to post on a political board. I figured it not worth the effort to argue politics with people I don't know. However, a topic of interest comes along, so I try my very best to engage a discussion with you.
Instead what I am met with is immediate attacks by posters on this board. I explain I'm not interested in engaging with them, but this isn't good enough for them. They prod me into an argument, just so they can ban me from the board?
How ironic that this is a "politics board", which should be the most open to free speech and open mindedness. Instead, I see people who are totally closed minded and just looking to pick fights and chase off people who may not agree with them.
This should be called the "closed minded, anti-democratic, censorship board.
I won't bother trying again.

What is happening in this society when we cater to the basest of people's fears is that society deteriorates

the problem is your assessment is entirely wrong because you are not paying attention to what is happening front of your eyes...

or, a distinct possibility is that you advocate the deterioration because it encourages big, pervasive, and invasive government....

or, perhaps you would have been more accurate by stating the progressive left is creating fear rather than say we "cater" to fear.....

the progressive mantra is government.....and, their aim is to diminish the United States to a "has been" in order for them to usurp it's wealth and create a classic Marxist state with a RULING class and working class to service their needs and whims....

the contrived gun controversy has nothing to do with guns.....the shooting in Newtown is merely a vehicle for an agenda....besides, we know the children were not killed with an assault rifle....

it's all about the agenda.....

we have a "bad guy" in the white house and a cadre of socialists, marxists and communists in our congress and and government agencies.....

the recent military cuts are not to curtail spending, rather they are aimed at diminishing our power....

the southern border remains open to allow the influx of the destitute and ignorant who will depend upon government....and, the concept of "fast tracking" their citizenship facilitates a voting bloc of government (Democrat) dependence...

and, we could go on and on....Obamacare, SEIU and public unions, gay MARRIAGE (as opposed to legal civil union) etc, etc, etc......

as for the guns.....I want the government to remain in fear and I want every progressive to live in constant fear.....

the proposals by the left are simply the first step in an agenda to disarm....it's just that simple.....

fortunately, it won't happen....even if a proposal is signed into law.
