Yep, just like we were talking about...sometimes the news knocks the market all over the place, and sometimes it doesn't seem to have any effect at all.
On that chart, notice that the tight downtrend that was happening prior to the FOMC announcement just continued after all the volatility was over? You could practically just take the two volatile bars out and the chart would look normal. The actual market direction didn't change at all until the beginning of the next day.
That's kind of what I meant by the "bias" of the market. The Fed news pushed it around for an hour or so, but in the end, it just kept on going where it was going in the first place.
