Sounds like a stretch, IMO. As the non-executive Chairman (since 2010) of a BoD with eleven directors, Vasella was not the policy dictator that some have made him out to be. Some of the actions Citi cites (such as renewed buybacks) may happen, but not because of Vasella’s departure.
