Just to clarify...again. The numbers on the FINRA website are IN FACT SHORT SALES (according to the definition of a short sale and according to the FINRA spokesman I spoke with). Yes, in most instances these numbers (for penny stocks anyway) represent MMs short sale transactions. They are required by law to register each and every short sale. The above are the facts.
Now...I have not clue as to who made those short sales. Since KMAG no longer has MMs involved with the selling of the stock and since I have been told that no one can sell short on the grey market, I have no idea where that high number of short sales came from. If you can clarify where and how those short sales (and they are short sales per FINRA) came from that would be wonderful.
